Against the Thorn Wolves and Greater Blood Drinkers, moment they group up they get torn to shreads. Then again Blood Drinkers were never actually a threat to begin with vs a Barrage team. Aslong as you have a proper frontline bodyblock with spirits + Dust Trap, Thorn Wolves go down extremely fast.

The Wardens... if you could get them to group up Splinter would annihilate them. We had a tank, bodyblocked a mob on the corridor, a single Barrage seemed to cut there health in half... sadly that was the end of the trip... the other 2 mobs had weird agro and chased us too far back.... and we got a huge warden spawn on top of us
I think this touches on why I don't really run with Splinter Weapon, even after the buff. It's not that the skill is bad with barrage, because the damage is very nice, but quite frankly, the times that it triggers are the times when extra damage really isn't needed. What tends to slow down a bp group is usually the individual enemies, not the grouped up mobs. Hmm...maybe all BP groups should take a Shadow Prison 'sin with them, lol.

2XvArchonvX: I think Evilsod mean splinter weapon, not splinter shot.

That's the third time I've made that typo. Corrected.

I beg to differ. The enemies in Urgoz are for the best part very time consuming. Wardens are both time consuming and deadly, the less of them there are the better, and Splinter Weapon is brilliant for wiping out groups, which is extremely important, because its completely armour ignoring all foes are potential targets. During 1 of the very bad lures (the monks weren't paying attention... and didnt heal the tank, lol) so the entire wave of melee broke through and was completely wiped out by a few traps, Splinter Weapon and the Eles n Mesmers. With no damage output the Songs just took a little while to interrupt/knockdown.

Single Targets is often alot better in Urgoz, most of the enemies work better in groups and can be alot harder to kill.

Not really, theres a foolproof way to tell the differance between a cookie cutter scrub and an original build maker.

Go into a B/P group or any other cookie cutter team and suggest a change in the build ( Suggest a good change that not many would think of )

The ones that say "Sure, might as well try it" = Original players who just happen to be using *Insert whatever cookie cutter here* because people will let them in the group if they do.

The ones that call you a n00b the minute you suggest a "change" before you get done with even explaining what that "change" is = Cookie cutter scrubs.

The ones that critique your suggestion a bit and offer new ideas on top of your own for the change = Original build makers.

I got bored.

Way too much setup time to be a viable build, but 690 damage with barrage on 3 targets = amusement. SInce its only three, the potential is doubled. Lawl.

Er.... you do realize that the poster you quoted is quite literally full of shit. Been as the synergy between Splinter Weapon and Barrage since the start of factions has been the exact same as the 1 between Splinter Weapon and Power Shot...

He's just trying to jump on the bandwagon, if he had been using this build since Factions i'd claim he was a complete idiot because it was utterly worthless then.

Barrage aint only one thing that gives nice numbers with splinter:

thats 799 farming-worthy damage with 4 targets.

You mean Barrage isn't the only skill that synergizes with Splinter Weapon? You mean there's another primary profession in the game beside Ranger? I'll never believe it.

Seriously, XvArchonvX expresses a serious concern and wardens are a pertinent example. Nevertheless, as I've stated before, that issue is compensated for by the presence of a reasonable MM on the team. Try interacting with groups of Dredge with that combination.
